Ethernet Adapter
The CommuniCard Ethernet Adapter provides a quick and easy Ethernet network connection for the PowerBook 1400, 5300 and 190 series. The CommuniCard Ethernet Adapter supports both 10BASE-T and thin Ethernet. For thin Ethernet, the card comes with a special media adapter. The CommuniCard Ethernet Adapter provides all the features of an internal Ethernet adapter card but is designed for mobility and use with PowerBooks. All CommuniCard PC Cards are designed for connection to the PC Card slot.
The Ethernet Adapter is a Type II PCMCIA card based on the latest Ethernet technology from National Semiconductor. Compatible with Apple's Card and Socket Services, the Ethernet Adapter complies with the IEEE 802.3 standard and Version 2.0 of the PCMCIA standard. Because it supports "hot swapping", the Ethernet Adapter can be swapped with another PC Card while the PowerBook is running. The CommuniCard Ethernet Adapter includes the CommuniCard software driver and automatically installs all files necessary to connect a PowerBook to an Ethernet network.
