    Description

Very old extremely scarce sewing collectibles: made & used somewhere between *1868-1910 late Victorian period thru turn of 20th-c.
    (Condition: "Fine")
Full disclosure: the only reason I didn't rate the pin cushion "Fine+", is that one of six colorful little crosses is just partially loose.
(But I'm sure that any person with even the slightest talent with a sewing needle (not me, lol) could easily fix that little bugger in a jiffy!)
    Anyhow..
You can clearly see the amazing condition of this lovely and most interesting antique collectible pin cushion. The 6-pointed star pattern.
It's nice that both sides are colorful, so it will display wonderfully as a showpiece no matter the perspective from which it is viewed.
    Now for the backstory:
This lovely pin cushion belonged to my late, great, great aunt "Elizabeth", whom I never met. (She lived from 1833 to 1910.)
I found this item in her old portable lap desk, amongst various others - two additional items of which are included in this auction!
*Since the lap desk was presented to her in 1868, and she passed away in 1910, that would've been the logical period for these items.
NOW.. for those two extra goodies:
    1) You'll see the full, unmolested card of "Best Pearl" buttons, shown in the final few photos in this series. I'd say, it's rather rare to find.
    2) You'll also see a splendid antique button hook which also belonged to "Aunt Lizzy" - her first name, initial "E", for Elizabeth .
The handle on this item could be ivory or even whalebone, I'm not sure, but it is definitely some sort of natural bone material. Very nice!
To the winner of this auction, I'll reveal her FULL name, IF the winner wishes to know it.. I can't reveal it here, for privacy concerns.
Sadly, I must begin parting with estate items. I cannot possibly keep every item. Plus, I really want many others to see and enjoy them!
A final note: you may combine shipping on any of my other eBay auctions along with this lot - please just ask me before you send your payment, and I'll be happy to send you a revised invoice. Thank you very much, and good luck in your bidding!
    Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
