Original Confederate Military Surgeon Embroidered Hat Device

Description

This is an Original Confederate Civil War Hat Device for a Military Surgeon.
It is in good shape with some minor nap loss to the velvet.
I took a picture of this item below a picture of one as depicted on page 95 in the following book:
"Echoes of Glory, Arms & Equipment of the Confederacy" 1991 Edition, Time-Life Books.
As you can see, this hat device is very similar to the one in the book.
Please note the embroidered "MS" as they appear almost identical.
