and shape of bokken used seems to change depending on the school of Japanese
swordsmanship. This bokken is made from Ostrya Japonica Wood material and is heavy,
hard and durable. It is also recommended for those who want to use bokken for a
long time.
Bokken is known to be heavier than bamboo swords, so it's best to choose this if
you value weight. Also, while bamboo swords are designed to allow you to practice
striking freely, bokken tends to be used for one-on-one match-style practice and
training of Kata (form).
By set-up the center of gravity of this bokken to the tip of the bokken, you can
practice while applying a load greater than the weight to your arm, and you can
train efficiently. The grip part has a thickness that is just right for both hands,
and it fits in the hand and is easy to swing.
