    Description

From my own personal collection, I am cleaning out one of my curio cabinets and offer this hard to find piece of history and sewing nostalgia! I've owned this for approximately 25-30 years and bought from an antique store or auction. Antique velvet ladies boot pincushion in Crazy Quilt pattern with hand-stitched embroidery between each piece of multi colored velvet, circa early 1900s, Victorian Era. This beautiful boot pin cushion is made with very soft dark green, tan, beige, blue checkered board colored velvet, the back being a solid burgundy. The shoe portion has a pointed toe and a medium-high heel. 9" long, 7" wide, and 1 1/2" thick, approximately.
Condition: In good condition, the velvet is downy soft and still brightly colored. It looks as though it has been used only towards the top in the beige section where there are a few  pinprick holes. I made a repair on the side joining the green to burgundy backing, as that had a small tear. I also repaired the top lace panel trim to the body of the boot on reverse where 2 panels had come away from shoe, and went a step further to make sturdy the trim by stitching each panel front to back so it stands and doesn't flop over. Has a solid super clean back and no odor whatsoever, from my own smoke free home.
Each segment was professionally stitched to form the boot and is complete with snug stuffing to retain its shape. Pin cushions of this age are very sought after and adored by sewers and pin cushion collectors for their inherent character and charm that only comes with time.
A true treasure from the Victorian Era and one that you can proudly display with your sewing collectibles. I ship complementary USPS Priority within a day of purchase after careful packaging.
